South Korea’s national football team, led by Coach Uli Stielike, has left for Kuwait to compete in the second round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
A Group G match between South Korea and Kuwait will be held at 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, Korea time, in Kuwait City.
Stielike stressed the importance of the upcoming game as he described it as a match between the two top teams in the group, noting that a victory could mean gaining six points.
The coach added that the match is expected to be difficult, citing that he remembers the South Korea-Kuwait match at the last AFC Asian Cup in Australia to be an extremely arduous game even though South Korea won 1-0.
Team Korea holds the top spot in Group G with nine points after having claimed its third consecutive victory in the second round.
